Welcome to Three Face Cards! The objective of the game is to collect as many points as possible by playing cards. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins!

The game is played with a regular deck of 52 cards. Aces are worth 1 point, 2s through 10s are worth face value, and a Jack, Queen or King (J,Q,K) are each worth 10 points.

The player begins by shuffling the deck and then dealing 3 cards face down to each player. The remaining cards are placed face down in the middle of the players to form a draw pile. The player who receives the highest ranked card from the deal starts the game. Play passes to the left on each subsequent turn. On a player's turn they must do one of three things:

1. Play one card from their hand, placing it face up in front of them. If the card is of equal rank to one already played, both cards are removed from play and both players draw another card from the deck to replace them. For example, if two 4s have been played, and a third 4 is played, both 4s are removed from play and both players draw another card. Ace (A) is high and 2 (2) is low.

2. Draw one card from the draw pile and add it to their hand.

3. Discard one card from their hand face up into the middle of all of the played cards. This can be done even if it does not result in any new plays. For example, if three 7s have been played, and a fourth 7 is discarded, nothing happens - there are no more matches possible.

After playing one card (or drawing/discarding),the player then draws back up to 3 cards if they have fewer than 3 cards in their hand at that point..The game ends when either all four players have run out of cards or there are no more possible plays given the cards that remain in play. At that point each player calculates their score: J,Q,K = 10 points each; A = 11 points; 2-10 = face value; -1 point for each Ace not used as part of a matched set). The player with the most points wins!
